Dr Claire Williams
BSc, MSc, DClinPsy, CPsychol
Chartered Clinical Psychologist

I am a registered Chartered Clinical Psychologist based in Anglesey, North Wales.

I was employed in the NHS from 2004 until 2019 in Specialist Services including Neurorehabilitation, Paediatrics, Child Development Centre and CAMHS, latterly as a Service Lead.  I provided specialised therapeutic services to those dealing with challenging medical, physical, and psychological difficulties.  As well as providing supervision to other Psychologists, Trainees and Assistant Psychologists I have also provided consultation services and delivered teaching and training to Universities, Teachers, Medical and NHS staff, and various Multi-Disciplinary Teams.

I came to Clinical Psychology rather late in life the advantage of which is that I bring with me a wealth of experience gained from working with Social Services, Police, NSPCC, specialist residential school, industry, and life experience.

I am a registered Chartered Clinical Psychologist based in Caernarfon, North Wales. I specialise in neurodiversity having completed additional specialist training and through my own lived experience as a neurodivergent woman.

I completed my first degree in Psychology with Health Psychology in 1998 and went on to do a PhD with Professor Mark Williams at Bangor University. After gaining my PhD I worked as a research officer in a multidisciplinary team assessing the effectiveness of an early year’s parenting programme. I completed my doctorate in clinical psychology in 2007 and since that time I have worked in a variety of roles in further education, the NHS and in my own private practice. I have a special interest in women’s health and ADHD.
